#30 Mexico
We adventured for the 40th birthday of a dear friend and a wedding for 2 beautiful souls. — and let me tell you, it was nothing short of magical! Along the way, we explored the vibrant streets of Cozumel, soaked up the sunshine in Cancun, and marveled at the ancient wonders of Chichén Itzá. We found cats, cards, and cenotes, and really, what more could someone ask for? This trip had all the ingredients for an unforgettable adventure, and we’re still reliving the memories every time we look at the photos (and maybe while we’re daydreaming about the tacos… but who’s counting?).
First up on our whirlwind journey was Cozumel, an island paradise that totally stole our hearts. The crystal-clear waters, the relaxed vibe, and the incredible beaches made it a perfect spot to kick off the trip. We spent our days swimming with tropical fish and exploring the colorful streets, but of course, the highlight was discovering a bunch of adorable street cats lounging around, living their best lives. I mean, is there a better way to experience a place than through the eyes of a local cat? (I don’t think so!) After all that exploring, we treated ourselves to a few local specialties—fresh squeezed limeade anyone?
Then, it was off to Cancun, where the sun was always shining, and the fun never stopped. We basked in the warm weather, tried some of the best vegan ceviche, and just enjoyed the laid-back vibe of this iconic beach town. But the real magic came when we stumbled upon a hidden cenote, near Tulum, the kind that felt like stepping into another world. The water was this amazing blue, and the whole place was so peaceful that we just had to pause and soak it all in. And did I mention the wedding? Oh yes, we got to witness two beautiful souls tying the knot in an intimate, magical ceremony that had us all in our feels. It was the perfect reminder of how incredible it is to share such special moments with friends.
Our last big adventure took us to Chichén Itzá, where we walked through the ruins of one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Standing in front of the massive El Castillo pyramid, I swear we all felt a sense of awe and wonder that words just can’t capture. The ancient history, the incredible architecture, and the sheer magnitude of the place left us all speechless. We were surrounded by history, but somehow, we still found time to laugh, take photos, and yes, snap a few selfies with the local wildlife (we couldn’t resist). Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better blend of culture, fun, and a bit of mystery. We ended the trip feeling like we’d seen it all… and still left wanting more.
So, what do you get when you combine a birthday, a wedding, and a bunch of friends ready to explore? The adventure of a lifetime, that’s what! Cozumel, Cancun, and Chichén Itzá gave us more than just memories—they gave us stories to tell for years to come. And if we learned anything along the way, it’s that when you’re with good company, you’re guaranteed to find the perfect mix of adventure, laughter, and maybe even a few cats along the way. Can’t wait for the next one! 🌴💫
