Suzy and Michael are the Founders of Adventurous Real Estate Investors. They specialize in Return on Impact. Through real estate investing they create immeasurable impacts; in their family, with their friends, in their community, with the families (residents) they serve, in the spaces where they want to be generous.... everywhere and anywhere!
Suzy and Michael are triathletes, outdoor and adventure enthusiasts, and avid travelers.
Our adventure began at a TEDx event — the theme was Reset — and it changed our lives.
We took the event to heart and used that theme — Reset — as a launching point to regain control of our lives, secure financial freedom, create a long lasting impact, and discover our “why.”
Our “why” is to achieve financial freedom through real estate investing so we can serve others all over the world. We want to build schools in 3rd world countries. Education is extremely important to us and access to basic education in all societies is critical to individual and economic development and political stability. We want to create an impact where it is needed most. We want to share this journey with others by offering investment opportunities to our partners, and to give back by mentoring others along the way to help them pursue their life passions.

Michael Barnhart, Ph.D.
Michael is the owner and asset manager of 700+ units, valued over $70M across Oklahoma & Texas. His superpower is Asset Management with a focus on financial analysis and underwriting. He both owns and develops apartment communities.
In addition to his passion for commercial real estate, Michael is a U.S. Air Force Officer with over 19 years of military experience. He first enlisted in the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic in 2005, and after graduating from basic training and technical school with honors, he was on the fast track to receiving his commission. In 2011, he graduated from the United States Air Force Academy as an Academy Scholar and continued his education at Colorado State University where he defended a master’s degree in 2013. In 2022, he successfully defended a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Cambridge, in England. Michael has served as a counter-proliferation program manager overseeing the successful acquisition, implementation, and disposition of over $100MM of defense systems. Michael has proudly served his country around the world with over 380 days in combat in Afghanistan.
Whether in the classroom as a biology professor or as a mentor for real estate investors, he lives to give back to students, colleagues, and friends.
Suzy Sevier, MBA

Suzy is the other co-founder of Adventurous Real Estate Investors. Suzy is the owner and asset manager of over $70 million worth of apartment communities in Oklahoma. She is also an owner of a short-term rental portfolio in Texas. She co-hosts a monthly meetup for overseas real estate investors investing in the United States.
Suzy currently works as a full-time Real Estate Professional. Her love for humans has exposed her true superpower, asset management. She loves working with the team to ensure everyone involved with the apartment community feels heard and understood. This goes a long way when trying to implement and complete a business plan!
Previously, she was a program manager and supply chain coordinator for a global multibillion-dollar biotechnology company in Cambridge, UK. Her last project was a $6.1M warehouse transfer in the Netherlands. She volunteers for the Junior League of Dayton and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Suzy has a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Marketing from The University of Denver. Suzy is a triathlete, novice golfer, and cat lover.

Carl Suverkrop
Carl is a co-founder of Trident Multifamily. Carl was born in South Africa and is now a resident in Dallas, Texas. He is a proven success as an entrepreneur having built and sold a commercial security company in South Africa. The skill sets needed to be a successful entrepreneur serve him well in real estate investing. Carl is a numbers guy and especially enjoys the analytical side of the business. He is also active within the multifamily industry, as a member of the NextGen Committee of the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas and he holds an IROP Certification from the National Apartment Association which designates him as an Independent Rental Owner Professional. Carl hosts a monthly multifamily meetup group in the DFW metroplex. Currently, Carl is the asset manager of 7 assets, 1,264 units, in Tulsa and Oklahoma City.
