High Performance Habits: Part 3
1. SUPERIORITY. When you start thinking you are better than people or groups, you have fallen into the superiority trap. Judgement does not elevate us. When we judge others, we are really addressing our own insecurities.
We tear others down to mask what we’re struggling with.
The greatest part about this world is that we are all different, we have different brains, beliefs, and backgrounds. Let’s celebrate, recognize, and acknowledge how powerful our differences are and what they contribute to the world. Spread the love instead of the hate.
2. DISSATISFACTION. Since I am all about getting rid of negative thoughts, let’s start here. Get them out of your head! Don’t allow yourself to go into a negative mental prison, you aren’t going to move forward doing that. Appreciate what is working and build your momentum from that. Positivity builds growth and potential.
Being satisfied doesn’t mean settling.
Settling is the end of an action. I am not suggesting you end anything. I am suggesting that you allow the negativity to flow out, and allow the positivity to flow in. Give yourself love and appreciation for all of the work you have put in and everything you have learned from it.
3. NEGLECT. Do not neglect the important parts of your life to get ahead. Everything is about balance. You can’t leave your family, health, team, or responsibilities behind as you scale that dream. I know sometimes you just forget a couple of times, learn from those moments and recognize when you are starting to neglect something. Ask yourself what changes can be made immediately before you slip too far.
SLOW DOWN.
Take a step back and review the priorities of your life. Not just the one goal you are focused on. When you slow down, you allow your mind to breathe and you can take a better look on how to organize all the thoughts, the to do list, the “never-ending” pile. You will find peace in the stillness, you will find the time to get everything done when your head is more clear.
